The winners were the following:
Jimmy Connors (USA) – 1974, 1976, 1978, 1982, 1983
Manuel Orantes (Spain) – 1975
Guillermo Vilas (Argentina) – 1977
John McEnroe (USA) – 1979, 1980, 1981, 1984
Right-handed John Newcombe was the champion in 1973 and Ivan Lendl in 1985.
