World’s first fully computer-animated feature film
22 November 1995 remains an important date in world cinema – a day that changed the world of cinema forever: Pixar Animation Studios released the first-ever fully computer-animated feature film, Toy Story.
The main plot of Toy Story revolves around Sheriff Woody, a toy cowboy, and Buzz Lightyear, a toy spaceman. The two are initially enemies but eventually become good friends. The story shows how they work together and find their way home to their owner, Andy.
Regarded as one of the best animated films of all time, Toy Story won critical acclaim and went on to earn huge at the box office. The film received three Academy Award nominations, and won a Special Achievement Academy Award for its exceptional contribution to cinema.
