Cristiano Sebastião’s fantastic goal brought his demise

In the 78th minute of the Federation Cup final 2004, Cristiano Sebastião de Lima Júnior collided with Mohun Bagan’s goalkeeper Subrata Paul. All this happened in the process of scoring a goal while chasing a pass inside the penalty box. It was incidentally the second goal in the 2–0 victory of Dempo Sports against Mohun Bagan. He collapsed on the ground immediately thereafter. When taken to the hospital, he was declared brought dead.
